Garage door operators are one of those things you take for granted until they stop working. Fortunately, they tend to be low-maintenance devices which are also easy to fix if something does go wrong.
Garage door operators are powered by electric motors and respond to the push of a button, either from a wireless keypad or a battery-powered remote. There are a range of garage door operators being offered by a number of vendors, including Hörmann. One of the most common problems that can occur is when the operator fails to respond to the remote or keypad command, or only responds partially, such as opening the door partially or opening the door but not closing it. Sometimes these issues can be fixed with some simple troubleshooting, such as replacing the batteries in your remote, lubricating and aligning the garage door mechanisms and testing the motor and controls. There are also garage door professionals that can help you pinpoint and solve the problem if you need any extra help.

While there is no law that prevents you from buying or selling property without professional help, in most cases a real-estate agent is very helpful. As a buyer, it is possible to search for homes, arrange tours and negotiate with sellers on your own, but the question is why would anyone want to do all the extra work? The answer is that many first-time buyers have a misconception that by working with an agent they will be forced to pay a commission, even though this in not true.
The commission to the agent is paid by the seller, not the buyer. Perhaps there are some buyers who would still prefer to go without an agent, and these buyers often end up looking at properties that are listed as "For Sale By Owner" (FSBO). In this case the buyer must try to determine whether the house is worth the price the seller is asking without the help of an agent, and this can be a daunting task when so much money is on the line.

Charlotte, North Carolina is like many other housing markets in the US. It is still feeling the effects of recession, and home sales and prices have not rebounded as hoped. Against this difficult backdrop, even the best real estate agent will find their career to be challenging. Still, there are some who are able to rack up the sales amid a down market through hard work and determination. Cynthia Matheny is one of these star real estate agents who received an award for selling over $3.4 million of real estate in her first year on the job.
She was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years, with four children still at home. She attained her real estate license in 2009 and jumped into her career earlier then planned as the recession affected her family negatively. She said that she works on average 60 hours a week, often late at night after her kids are in bed, and is in the office 7 days a week.
