Then the Conversation Turned to Properties for Sale!
My parents have been discussing their retirement now for quite some time. I've heard them mention the same ideas and concerns, desires and uncertainties for some time now. The other night, they invited me for dinner, however, and this time, they actually brought up having started looking for properties for sale! I was thrilled for them. I know they've have felt they no longer want to stay in the house they are in now. The only thing holding them back was that that is where they raised us. My brother and I have telling them that we would completely understand if they did sell the "family house" and that we fully encourage them to do what feels best for them at this point in their lives. I was really relieved and excited for them …they're ready to appreciate the past, but to fully embrace the present…at this, for them, includes finding a property that's their dream for this time in their lives. More power to them!
